Plainfield has experienced one of the most rapid housing growth waves in the Chicago metro over the past three decades. The historic downtown along Lockport Street retains some of the village's older Victorian and Foursquare homes, but most of Plainfield's housing stock is newer construction from the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s large suburban subdivisions with the kind of expansive kitchens and walk-in pantries common to late-20th and early-21st-century planned communities.

We do a lot of full-kitchen conversions in Plainfield. The wide drawer banks and deep cabinet runs in these newer homes were rarely fully outfitted at original construction. Rollouts make them function the way the homeowners assumed they would, often at a small fraction of the cost of a kitchen remodel.
